The Journey Clinical Difference:
Why Therapy Matters

Unlike at-home ketamine treatments or IV infusions, which only target neurochemical relief, we use ketamine as a supplement to therapy for deeper emotional exploration.

All Journey Clinical patients undergo continuous psychotherapy with a licensed mental health professional.

Therapy You Can Trust

Partner with one of over 2500 therapists in our network to receive KAP treatment at the highest standard of care.

Choose Your Licensed Psychotherapist

All Journey Clinical members are required to upload their credentials to our platform (LCSW, PsyD, LMFT, LCAT, PhD, LMHC, LPCC, LCPC, LICSW, LPC) and maintain an active professional license, ensuring they adhere to the standards of their licensing board. We do not facilitate KAP with coaches or unlicensed guides.

Mandatory KAP Training for Therapists

Therapists on our platform must complete our comprehensive KAP education module (designed by Fluence) in order to start practicing KAP, or have proof of training from vetted organizations (e.g. Fluence, Polaris, CIIS, MAPS, etc), as well as participate in peer consultation groups and experiential learning.

Clinical KAP Protocol with Preparation, Dosing, and Integration

We follow the preparation, dosing, and integration session model of Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy for all treatment plans. Therapists help patients process insights and emotions that arise during the ketamine experience, and allow their patients to unfold deeper content in their dosing sessions, leading to the possibility of more frequent breakthroughs and longer-term improvement in clinical outcomes.

Safety-Forward Every Step of the Way

1. Comprehensive Psychiatric Care

Journey Clinical’s medical takes on a comprehensive holistic view of the patient and all of their psychiatric care. Learn more about Medication Management

2. Thorough Medical Screening with Medical Clearances

Before treatment, all patients undergo a 1-hour medical intake consultation covering their medical and psychiatric history, the risk/benefit framework of ketamine, and potential contraindications, with medical clearances from other providers if needed.

All Journey Clinical patients sign an informed consent form that comprehensively informs them that ketamine is being prescribed off-label as well as the potential risks and side effects of the medication.

3. Strict Dosing Protocol & Follow-up

To start, patients receive two doses of sublingual ketamine  to determine the appropriate dosage and to prevent any potential misuse. To receive any additional prescriptions, patients must come back for follow-up consultations with our medical team.

4. Experiencing KAP in a Controlled Environment

Journey Clinical patients experience Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy with a therapist present (and chaperone, if doing KAP remotely) in a controlled environment. Throughout the experience, patients are lying down in a comfortable position with an eye mask on (provided by Journey Clinical.)

5. Vitals Monitoring

During dosing sessions, patients self-administer vitals (blood pressure, heart rate) before taking their medicine, which is logged in Journey Clinical’s HIPAA-compliant portal and monitored by the medical team for safety and compliance.

6. Ongoing Support from Your Dedicated Care Team

Your dedicated care team collaborates closely, fostering an open dialogue so that you always feel informed, empowered, and supported. Journey Clinical’s medical team schedules regular follow ups with you to monitor outcomes and prescribe ketamine lozenge refills, as appropriate. The frequency of follow ups depends on the patient’s customized treatment plan, at a minimum of once per quarter. More about our commitment to patient safety
